ohhighoh!

Brandon came in from Portland and we went to Ohio for the weekend
to see some family.

We got $3.50 redbulls and some medicine al a carte.

Brandon found these shades and never took them off.

I did a portrait of my Grandpa in his bedroom.

Then my Dad found us.

My grandma got jealous and wanted one of herself.

We went to OB's Bar, where there were so many hot girls.

My dad pulled out his long lens and expensive tripod.

I met my new second cousin, Leo. I liked his toys more than him.

My other cousins made me play this game in the basement.

Brandon and I went to Toledo's downtown convention center, where
they were having a RV show.

We stopped for one last coffee.

And Brandon found this.

couple articles

Happy Holidays!!! Here are a couple articles I came across today. They are a bit old, so maybe you've seen them already...
Eggleston by Harmony Korine
Ryan Mcginley by Ryan Mcginley
Also found out you can now search the entire LIFE collection of photography through google. Just add "source:life" to any search. So sick.
Example: Apollo Space 1960's source:life
I've also been editing through thousands of photos (see above) from 2008 that I want to get together. Mostly snaps and shit of friends, stuff, and things. I always end up liking these types of photographs more than "real" work because, well, I think they are more "real". Anyway, keep an eye out for a edit on the website after the new year. Along with lots of new Davey work. xoxoxoxo!

Darrin Behind Motel, Jumping Dog, and Bad Ass Pipe, 2008

I have a ton of new Davey work from the past 6 months that I have been a bit reluctant to put out on the internet because of some of the content. Anyway I guess I just have to get over that. Look for a new edit, Davey part III, on my site after the new year. It's gonna be good. In the meantime here are three new ones from this past week. Me, Davey, and Darrin drove along Harlem Ave. down through Summit for about an hour taking care of business then picked up Mitch and went to some girls house who's parents were gone at work. She had these big crazy dogs that were all stoned and acting crazy. That dog in the photograph was seriously jumping 4 feet in the air and slamming its face into the door. And that pipe, well it was just fucking huge. _b

Shephen Shore

Traveled up to Milwaukee last weekend to see the Stephen Shore Biographical Landscape show at the Haggerty Museum of Art on Marquette's campus. The show was really good. Had lots of work from Uncommon Places and American Surfaces, but also had tons of early black and white work I had not seen before. Also a section of postcards he made with his own photographs in the early 70's and secretly placed at various stores throughout Texas that were unknowingly purchased. (all photos © Stephen Shore) _b

best dig yet...

Dawn and I stopped down at the Hyde Park Powell's this afternoon to see if they had anything worth picking up. $150.00 later I walked out with three bags of photo books. I go often because for some reason they overlook a ton of good stuff. In the past I have found titles such as Richard Billingham's "Rays a Laugh", William Eggleston's "Guide", Tina Barney's "The European's", Terry Richardson's "Son of Bob", and Tom Wood's "Bus Odyssey". All for a mere fraction of what they are actually worth. "Ray's a Laugh" was $12.50 and is worth like $700.00 bucks now. My brother actually got that one, not me. (fucker) Anyway the Hyde Park location still has a ton of good stuff. If you are in the area go there and bring your mobile internet device with amazon bookmarked so you compare the prices. You may be suprised... _b
